Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch proudly hosts the sole population of white rhinos in Uganda. Situated in Nakasongola district, the ranch offers not only the majestic presence of rhinoceroses but also a diverse array of bird species and other wildlife. Renowned as a sought-after destination for adventurous tourists, our offerings include Rhino trekking, birding tours, nature hikes, nocturnal nature walks, and a unique shoebill trek combined with a canoe ride.
Visitors can unwind at our bar and restaurant, where we serve refreshing beverages and delectable home-cooked meals. For those seeking an overnight stay, accommodations are available at either our campsite or one of our guest houses.
The Rhino Re-introduction Project, a collaboration between Rhino Fund Uganda and the Roy family, saw the introduction of six southern white rhinos to Ziwa in 2006. Since then, the ranch has celebrated the birth of 26 rhino calves, bolstering our population to 32. Presently, Ziwa stands as the sole destination in Uganda where these magnificent creatures roam freely.
Conveniently positioned 176 kilometers (109 miles) from Kampala along the Gulu Highway en route to Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa is easily accessible. Travelers heading north should turn left at the Nakitoma Trading Centre, just a few kilometers away, to embark on an unforgettable wildlife experience.
